The Bazils
James and Becky began dating in 2001 and got married in 2003, all while living a life of rebellion and addiction together. During a difficult time in 2008, they surrendered their lives to Jesus. It was during this time that James was invited to church by one of his ex-dealers. James and Becky started attending Calvary Chapel Wichita and remained there for 13 years before stepping out in faith to help plant Hope 4 Da Hood Church. James started out in maintenance at the church and stepped in to help lead the youth group, soon becoming the Youth Pastor. He was ordained in 2013 and several years later became the Assistant Pastor. The Lord quickly showed him he has a heart for missions and outreach, which led James to come alongside many different churches and nonprofit organizations. Since 2017 James has worked for Youth Horizons and is the Assistant Director of Kinloch Price Boys Ranch. During her time at Calvary Chapel Wichita, Becky served as a Worship Leader, Sound Engineer, and the Women’s Ministry overseer. In 2019, while healing from her own past traumas, Becky knew her calling was to minister to women that need healing and hope from trauma, addiction, and abuse. James and Becky have one son and three daughters. Becky works part time so that she can be more involved with their two daughters that are still at home.
Our history
Hope 4 Da Hood was born in 2009 when longtime gang member Beni Santibañez gave his life to Jesus Christ and began to answer his call to lead gang members to the Lord. The Lord used Beni mightily that first year and used him to lead many people to the Lord; most of them being gang affiliated. Hope 4 Da Hood was born during that time the Lord was moving. Hope 4 Da Hood joined a church plant in their neighborhood where they served, grew and followed God as He has continued to build up the community through evangelism, music, discipleship and fellowship. In 2017 Hope 4 Da Hood became an official non profit organization and in 2021 they began working with Sedgwick County Work Release and have seen a major impact on the people they are serving. Now in 2022 they are gearing up to plant Hope 4 Da Hood CHURCH!
